The following needs were collected through an interview with the Principal:

Lack of skills/ 

delivery

"New teachers might not be so experienced to deliver the lesson"

"We have everything (such as) the resources. But the delivery plays a very important part."

Teachers’ beliefs

“Even if the curriculum is there, the lesson can come out different due to teacher's presentation style and character trait.”

“We are moving towards guided inquiry but i still feel that the teachers are still very much guided by their personal and their past experiences. So even though its guided inquiry, their delivery is still very much teacher-directed, not so much of child-initiated.”

​Manpower

"If you can have English and Chinese teacher in one classroom so the partner can co-support each other. And when they take leave right at least they’re able to fall back on someone.”

​Classroom management​

“You will spend a lot of time managing the children and might not deliver the lesson well”

Parents' Expectations 

“Mosquitoes are one of the killers for holistic development. We bring the children outdoors. The parents will count. They (Children) come back with one or two mosquito bites. They(Parents) will chase the teacher for an explanation.”
